Material variants connect the world of configurable products with the unambiguous master data that pre-production, warehousing and downstream processes need. Our add-on creates them automatically — consistent, fast and reproducible.
From configurable material to concrete variant
Combined with configurable products (KMAT), material variants reduce the number of master records needed for product description and procurement. In pre-production, warehousing and downstream processes, on the other hand, the uniqueness of a product is the key enabler of fast, simple execution — and exactly this bridge is what our add-on builds.
With the CaRD add-on for automatic creation of material variants, SAP users decide simply and conveniently under which conditions and at which point in time material variants are generated automatically. Two paths are available: interactively while creating a sales order — or via a dedicated transaction outside order processing, starting either from the sales order or directly from the configurable material.
The variant is generated automatically in the sales order; table-driven follow-up activities create BOM and/or routing references or a condition record (PR00). The add-on is available at a fixed price; individual requirements can easily be added per project. You will find more information on our product site materialvarianten.de (German).

When are the material variants created?
You decide: interactively while the sales order is created, or in a targeted way via a dedicated transaction — in both cases rule-based according to the conditions and points in time you define.
Which follow-up activities does the add-on perform?
Table-driven, for example the creation of BOM and routing references and of a condition record (PR00). Further customer-specific follow-up activities can easily be added.
How is the implementation done?
At a fixed price: installation and configuration by us, developed in the registered CaRD namespace, without modification of the SAP standard. Individual adjustments are possible per project.
